Gold on Twitter
Anyone else seen his message today? Seems the person he was replying to has some kind of protected account (whether he did that before or after, I don't know) but was asking how to make a complaint to the club about being banned. Gold's response was that he didn't know as he'd never had to make one.

I know Gold doesn't have to do it and he has to put up with tons of abuse, and maybe this fan is a complete idiot, but does he never think how this stuff might look? I can't help but feel that if he can't cope without being a smarmy cunt then maybe he'd be best advised to leave well alone.

I do wish that old cunt would just shut the fuck up.
He's embarrassing beyond belief.

He may be an old cunt, but he's our old cunt. I do wish he'd stop using fucking dots everywhere though.

Gold may have been more responsive if the guy had asked about the latest chapter of David's book.

Re: Gold on Twitter
What do you mean wanting people to be tough on others yet get upset if it happens to them?

You'll have to be more specific comma.

Re: Gold on Twitter
Tab, I take a different view to you.

To me it smacks of people wanting to be tough on others yet are infra sensitive when thinking there is negativity towards themselves.

There's a glut of precious flowers in cyberspace able to give it out but unable to withstand the mildest of rebukes.

This Gold thing is a total non story.

Re: Gold on Twitter
Comma,

I have no idea. As I say, it may be he is a massive cunt and we're better off without him and he was banned for good reason. And yes, twitter hardly seems like the correct medium to address it either way.

But that's not the point. It's not about the individual. All most people will see is our joint chairman being sarcastic and dismissive. That's the nature of twitter and of basic PR - you don't deal with individual greievances or react publicly in a way that will reflect badly on the bigger picture.

Many more people will jump on this as evidence of the board being anti fans etc - whether it's true or not, and whether the original poster was an idiot or not - whereas if he'd just said 'here's the link for the address to write to' no one would have paid any attention. It only takes a second to step back, think, and make a decent response even if the person you're responding to is a complete knuckle dragger. A proper appeals process would deal with that, but not in a public forum.

For people who are so obsessed with 'the brand', it's staggering that they can't see this.

He lies to fans under this persona of being doddery own man.

As much of a cunt as the midget.

I don't think he's being smarmy just a bit doddery in his dotage?

Re: Gold on Twitter
What made the guy think that Twitter was the proper channel to go through to make an appeal to the club over a banning?

I would have thought, 'going through the proper channels and asking nicely' was the best course, rather than publicly asking the co-Chairman in front of billions on social media.

If the bloke got a slap down he deserved it.
